Busy busy bumble bees...
Hey everyone.. I know I've been absent from posting over the last week, but don't worry. I'm not gone. I just spent the whole last week prepping for and having a big party.

I'd do a big ol post about party food today, but it'll have to wait for tomorrow. I'm gonna take a nice cold bath and relax today, but like I said, tomorrow I'll post all sorts of recipes for delicious party food and appetizers.

After that, we'll get back to the regular two or three posts a week until Summer ends and the weather cools enough for me to do more baking.

But until then, food network watchers- don't forget, tonight we find out who wins the next food network star! And in other Food network news, while I'm not her biggest fan...

Giada? (click on the photo for more Giada- and her giant head- in Esquire magazine.)

For everyone else just looking for a delicious food photo fix, be sure to check out Tastespotting, which is where I found the link to the above photo, but where you can also find tons of drool worth food photos.

Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!

-A.

I recently saw her on Iron Chef America. She was paired up with one Iron Chef (sorry, I forget the names) and the other Iron Chef was paired with Rachel Ray. It was a Cranberry Challenge. Wanna know who won? Well it wasn't Giada...

I'm still mad about that, Giada should have won.

I've wondered if Giada is one of the TV star chef's that Paula Deen refers to as a "spitter" in her book?

How could someone who makes and tastes italian food every day stay that thin and NOT be a "spitter"?

I don't really watch her show, but does she sit down at the end of every one and eat ALL that she's cooked? She probably just has a few bites right? And that wouldn't be enough for her to gain weight at all.

I love giada, though I've yet to make anything she cooks. I really need to try one of her recipes one of these days.

I love Giada for some reason. My brother and I always make fun of her sudden Italian accent with certain words, such as when she says, "Mohhtaahrrrrehhla" (mozzarella).

Just popping in to tell you that you've been an inspiration. I got creative in the kitchen and baked up the most wonderful pumpkin muffins with a cream cheese middle, covered in a very light squiggle of cream cheese frosting.
Double delish and a total hit at work.
I would have never thought to make such a thing had I not been inspired to experiment with baking.

Her lollipop head is a source of amusement in my house.

As is her awful italian pronunciation.

Oh and about Next Food Network Star. Jag should be ashamed of himself. I'd have wanted the earth to open and swallow me up before appearing on that stage with everyone else tonight.

She's terribly pretty, imo, but that photo looks terrible. ^_^;; I went to the Esquire website to look closer, and it wasn't any better there. She looks like a freaky 50 year old who had too much plastic surgery.

Also? I am such a girl, but that dress looks like Cavalli or Versace and I shudder to think of how it was absolutely *ruined* after that shoot. >.<

She's pretty.. but looks terribly air-brushed in those pics. I like her a lot on her show, but I have yet to try any of the recipes she makes because they aren't the typical italian food that I would normally eat.

I can't quite place it, but something about Giada has always irked me.

I hope Rory wins! though I do wish Paul had been in the finals. He was my favorite.

I must say, she looks really scary in this photo set. The red tomatoes paired with the white dress, and all that bloody-looking mess just smeared all over her makes her look as though she just butchered something. It doesn't help that she has some really disturbing expressions on her face.. *shudder
Holly Kennedy[info]thathollygirl on July 23rd, 2007 04:14 am (UTC)
I agree! I was just like, how the hell is that supposed to be hot in the least! Not to mention the airbrushing is *so* obvious that she appears to be inflatable.
Samalamity[info]luvsammy on July 23rd, 2007 04:33 am (UTC)
Wow. She is ridiculously photoshopped.
tinrobot: batcountry[info]tinrobot on July 23rd, 2007 04:12 pm (UTC)
That's funny, my content filtering reports her as pr0n. =D

Oh man, this chick...it was recently said that her demographic popularity lies with men aged 20-25 in college that don't watch her for her cooking- and she was TOTALLY ok with that.

I hate her little "princess" moments- where she'll be talking about what she's doing, and all of a sudden the camera pans up to her face and she flashes that Beauty-Queen pageant smile and the camera holds it for like, 10 seconds.

She's cute and all, and some of her recipes look good...I'll never forget one episode- she was making cannelloni and lasagna, and she was putting a metric ton of butter and cheese in it. My sister and I were laughing our faces off at how many calories that stuff must have- and I said, "I'd laugh so hard if she was getting ready to take this to a fire station or something" because she had mentioned it was a gift for some of her special friends.

Needless to say my sister and I just about died with laughter when she took it to her local fire-station. Those guys probably would need ambulances after the massive coronary they would suffer after eating all that grease!

Oh...memories.

that is not giada!... nooo way. it looks nothing like her! :O
Kristin[info]an0malies on July 24th, 2007 09:36 am (UTC)
Oh, Giada.

Those pictures make her look like she's some airbrushed zombie who has just happened upon a buffet of brains. D:

The only person who I dislike more than her, though, has to be Sandra Lee. The fact that her set is color-coordinated to match the food she's cooking, and her constant cocktail time are just so...UGH. Haha.
