The Waffler- Pt. 2.
Although the it seems that we're taking a bit of a break from the scorching temperatures of last week, here in the Northwest, Its still warm, and I still don't feel like heating up my house.

So I return to the waffle iron in search of another perfect breakfast.

At first  glance, these waffles might look a little plain, but let me assure you, they're not.

They're chock full of pecans, cinnamon and caramel!

They're even drenched in a maple pecan caramel glaze.

I don't really have much of a story to go along with these, other than to tell you, they're completely delicious, a bit addictive, and perfect for the breakfast lover with a sweet tooth ( though they're just sweet enough, and definately not nearly as sweet as a dessert waffle.) Amazingly enough, they're light and fluffy, and perfect for a summertime breakfast.

Recipe coming soon at Never Bashful with Butter!

OMG A!!!!!!
You are so wrong for posting these. I am going to crave these all week now.
Adventures in culinary creativity.[info]a_muffin_story on July 18th, 2007 04:48 am (UTC)
Hehee.. They were really good! Normally I eat like, maybe two waffles, tops.. But I had five of these! hahaha.. They're like a cross between a a soft regular waffle and a lightly sweetened dessert cake. The glaze was what threw it over the edge. OMG. Delicious.

I just bought a waffle iron for camping to cook over a fire. Cross your fingers that it will work.
Adventures in culinary creativity.[info]a_muffin_story on July 18th, 2007 04:49 am (UTC)
Oooh! I'm expecting photos! When I was a kid we had a toaster for camp fires, but never a waffler. I've heard of them though.. I'll cross my fingers that it works for you too!

Now all you need is some apple with that. It looks so delicious though, oh man. I suggest apple because my best friend's mom made waffles like that plus the apple for breakfast one time, and I thought I was going to die. SO divine.

Ooh, I think I have a good idea for a waffle with apple in it.. Hmm.. I'll have to work on that this week. I love apples, that would be delicious.

HAHAHAHAA!! Oooh, thats hilarious. I was seriously laughing out loud, my husband just gave me that "you're crazy" look. hehe..

Well, lets see here.. I have a point and shoot panasonic Lumix dmc-lz5. its got 6 megapixels, and its pretty much awesome. Its got some nifty settings on it, and I'd totally recommend it for anyone who likes taking photos of close up things, as well as action shots, just so long as the subject of the photograph isn't too far away. Most of my scenery photos don't turn out too well, because the camera doesn't have the ability to differentiate the depth beyond a certain distance, which is a common issue for a lot of point and shoot digital cameras.

If you (or justinesuitor) have any other questions, feel free to ask! I don't bite, unless you're made of cheese or bacon, or caramel... in which case I am so not responsible for my actions. *smile*

And again...

Can I come live at your house?
Or just stop to eat on a daily basis?

mmmmm those look soo intense!! I think they would be great with caramelized bananas!

in high school my brother and his friends (who were all my friends, too) had 'waffle club' and about once a month we would gather at someone's house (usually ours) and make and eat waffles. i wish we'd had this recipe then!!

May I?
Hey Muffin! (:

I've been reading your journal since you were featured in LjSpotlight! And I LOVE IT.

Anyway, I've just gotten an assignment from my lecturer to make a website for my end of semester assesment.

And I thought of doing a food website! (:

Do you mind if I saved some of your pictures?

because seriously, nobody took better food-pictures than you do!!

Rock on!
Adventures in culinary creativity.[info]a_muffin_story on July 19th, 2007 06:35 pm (UTC)
Re: May I?
Hey there...

You can use up to 5 of my photos, under these conditions-

They must be saved at no larger than 75% of their current size, and they need to be linked back to the original post on my site. Also, they need to have "A_Muffin_Story" either in watermark or text on the photograph itself prior to posting.

I hate to make rules about it, but I gotta be careful, because I have started work on a cookbook, and I need to be kind of protective of my photographs and where they're posted.

Also, once you're finished, if you could give me a link so that I can link to it myself, that would be great.

Re: May I?
Hey Andrea (:

Hmm, I believe I must have phrased my sentence in not so clear manner. I'm really sorry about that.

Actually, the website is NOT gonna be uploaded to the world wide web. It's just gonna be submitted to my lecturer and that's about it (:

In my website, there's one part which is called, "Great links I Visit frequently" And there is that part where I need to make a collage of your food pictures (: From that collage, I will link to http://a-muffin-story.livejournal.com (:

I've made a collage in advance. Is there anyway I could email it to you to see whether you're okay with it? If you're not, I'll definitely take it down, and no hard feelings (:

my email address is devialgas.05@ichat.sp.edu.sg

Thanks once again, Andrea (:

oh! Thats fine. Go right ahead then. Hehe.. IF its not on the world wide web, then there's no need to worry. Hehe.. Proceed! *smile*

Re: May I?
Is it still alright that I use your photos for iconning (100x100-very-edited pictures, of course)?
Adventures in culinary creativity.[info]a_muffin_story on July 27th, 2007 04:22 am (UTC)
Re: May I?
Hehe.. You are the only person who I allow free-use of my photos, without a limit. You've been with this blog since darn near the beginning, and I know your work is beautiful, and I know enough about what you do with photos for icons and backgrounds, that I trust you.

So yeah, of course its alright that you use them for icons and whatnot. I was actually gonna ask you if, when you have the free time (I know you have a real life and everything, so- no time limits or anything) If you could possibly make me another LJ layout thing. This one is beautiful, I just think it would be nice to have a bit of a change, and I'd like to stick with your work, rather than have someone else make something that I probably wouldn't like as much.

But like I said, I know you get busy, so if you can't, no problem. That doesn't affect my allowing you to do whatever with my food photos. *smile*

Re: May I?
I would be thrilled to bits! Any particular treat(s) you want on the new layout? I'll try to make this one really good. :o)

Also -- do you really have a cookbook deal? If so, that is AMAZING and I'm squealing on your behalf!
Adventures in culinary creativity.[info]a_muffin_story on July 29th, 2007 04:44 am (UTC)
Re: May I?
YAY! Any of the goodies would be fine in the layout (cupcakes are my favourite), so long as they're bright colours. I really like the one I have now, its just, you know.. sometimes change is good, even when what you have is great!

And yeah, I'm working on a cookbook. I've put off really focusing on it until the fall, when I won't mind my house being heated up with all the cooking I'll have to do. Also, I need to round up some independant recipe testers for the project, but I'll get into that probably around October. hehe..

Thank you so much!
